A Christian Family's Calling
Orphans & Widows Aid (OWAID) was founded in Nashville, Tennessee, in 2025 by the Venant and Joan Sindayigaya family. As a devout Christian family, we answered a profound biblical calling to care for the most vulnerable. James 1:27 tells us that pure religion is to look after orphans and widows in their distress. This divine mandate is the driving force behind everything we do.
Having seen the devastating toll that war and crisis take on families, our family established OWAID to be the hands and feet of Jesus Christ in the world’s most forgotten places.
From our headquarters in Nashville, we work tirelessly to transform despair into hope, ensuring that displaced women and children know they are loved, valued, and never truly alone.
Guided by Faith. Driven by Compassion.
Rooted in Christ’s love, our mission and vision guide everything we do. We are committed to restoring hope, empowering vulnerable families, and creating lasting opportunities for orphaned children and widows across refugee communities in Africa
