Education Support
Donate toward education
for African orphaned and refugee children.
Support school tuition, uniforms, books and learning supplies for orphaned and vulnerable children.

A school year can change a life
Practical support for a full school year.
A school place is only the beginning. Tuition, uniforms, exercise books and everyday learning supplies can put education beyond the reach of a displaced household. OWAID helps remove these practical barriers so children can participate and keep learning.
Our annual education targets are $85.25 for Nursery–Primary 3, $110.50 for Primary 4–5, and $150.50 for Primary 6–7. These figures guide sponsorship conversations; the team confirms the student’s school, fees and required materials.
For U.S. supporters, the stages roughly correspond to early childhood and lower elementary, upper elementary, and the later primary years. School systems differ, so the child’s actual local grade and needs guide each sponsorship.
- School fees and age-appropriate learning materials
- Uniforms, books, pens and pencils where required
- Careful coordination with the child’s caregiver and school

The next step matters
Consistent support matters across every term.
Regular giving can help the team plan for continuing tuition and supplies. Sponsorship updates should celebrate learning while protecting a child’s identity and privacy. Ask about the current school-year needs and the information we can responsibly share.
- Ask about current needs and available projects
- Discuss the purpose and scope of your support
- Request appropriate updates as the work progresses

Questions about
education support.
How much does education sponsorship cost?
The current annual planning amounts are $85.25 for Nursery–Primary 3, $110.50 for Primary 4–5 and $150.50 for Primary 6–7. Contact OWAID for the exact sponsorship arrangements.
Can I give monthly toward education?
Yes. You can discuss monthly support with the team. A monthly contribution helps meet a child’s needs; it does not automatically cover a whole year unless the agreed total meets the required costs.
Will I receive information about the child?
Ask the team about available school and progress updates. Identifying information and photographs must be shared with appropriate consent and care for the child’s safety.
Together, we can help
a family begin again.
Give toward a home, a school year or the everyday care that makes a future possible.
