Women & Child Empowerment
Help African widows and children
build confidence, connection and independence.
Support mentorship, community connection and positive opportunities for vulnerable women and children.

Dignity. Belonging. Confidence.
Rebuilding a life includes being heard.
Loss and displacement affect more than material circumstances. Widows may be rebuilding a household alone, while children need reliable care, encouragement and a community that recognizes their worth.
OWAID combines practical support with mentorship, faith-based fellowship and community relationships. We encourage women’s participation, positive youth choices and opportunities to grow in confidence and leadership.
Our Christian identity guides service through compassion. We serve people regardless of background, and participation in prayer, church activities or baptism is a personal choice, not a condition for receiving humanitarian support.
- Supportive relationships and community connection
- Mentorship and positive opportunities for young people
- Women’s participation, dignity and practical independence

The next step matters
Faith expressed through care for one another.
Churches and community leaders can help create a welcoming network around a family. Safe boundaries, respectful listening and appropriate referrals are essential, especially when someone needs specialist emotional or safeguarding support.
- Ask about current needs and available projects
- Discuss the purpose and scope of your support
- Request appropriate updates as the work progresses

Questions about
women & child empowerment.
Is help limited to Christians?
No. OWAID is Christian and serves vulnerable people regardless of their background. Humanitarian assistance is not conditional on religious participation.
How can I support widows beyond an immediate gift?
You can discuss ongoing sponsorship, skills training, mentorship support or a partnership that responds to a household’s wider needs.
Do you publish children’s personal stories?
Stories and images should be shared with appropriate consent and care. Protecting a child’s privacy and safety takes priority over publicity.
Together, we can help
a family begin again.
Give toward a home, a school year or the everyday care that makes a future possible.
